I wanna help the katrina victims a lot, but im having trouble coming up with what to do.
I can list a few ideas though, so maybe if i get a census on what people think is a good idea, I'll try to carry it out and give aid to the "hell on earth" in the wake of katrina.
Idea #1: I was thinking maybe we can get the school to host a battle of the bands kind of concert. Using that as the platform, we can use all the money raised to donate to charities. Im sure there are a lot of good bands around the area that wouldnt mind the exposure and a chance to help the katrina vicitims
Idea #2: Sell T-shirts that promotes empathy and concern for the people affected by Katrina
Idea #3: I know a lot people at our school work, maybe we can ask everone to dedicate a few of their work hours towards this. Like 1 day of work, or 3 hours of work. So around $20-$40 dollars from each person that has a job. I know we all like to have money and all, but we can live without that extra $20. $100 dollars can feed a family of 4 for 2 days. So with the student body, im sure we can raise enough to feed hundred of families dying and starving over there.
Idea #4: Donate your books!! We can then go sell them at half-price books and get as much money as possible for them, then donate it all to charity.
Idea #5: Haha have a gigantic halo tournyment and use all of the admissions fee to donate.
Idea #6: Get the word out tehre for everyone to clean out their closets and donate all the unwanted clothes. I know i sat down over the weekend, and cleaned out my closet and i got 4 bags of clothing rdy to donate. Im sure all the girls out there have more then me. So raise awareness and collect donations.
Idea #7: Everyone shoudl go to their local stores and purchase one of those 24 packs of water and donate it. People are dying of dehydration and lack of anytying for the matter. Food, water, clothes, they need it all, but water is the most critical element of life. So the more water we can supply them, the more survivors we will have.
Okay thats all i can think of at the moment, but everyone out there shoudl leave me some feedback and give me your own ideas if you can think of any. |
